If you have eyed navigation systems that used fly-out and collapsing menus, and thought sadly that you could not use them because of Section 508 accessibility requirements, think again. If you have been curious about the hottest technology on the Web, Cascading Style Sheets, but thought that 508 laws would make them problematic to achieve, think again.
This class will take you a step farther in the web development process. You will create a site template that you’ll be able to customize in an infinite number of ways to use immediately in all of your current projects. Accelerate your workflow with new CSS layouts, and test your design with the new Browser Compatibility Check. You’ll liberate your pages from table design. Organize and accelerate your coding with code collapse, color coding, line numbering, and a coding toolbar with comment/uncomment and code snippets. When the class is over, you will have separated your content from your presentation and will have made a truly accessible site that will pass the W3C’s validates.
This class is intended for anyone involved in development of accessible web pages or websites, or who anticipates such involvement. This is a hands-on computer class that assumes computer competency and familiarity with the Basic Web Design in Dreamweaver course. Familiarity with HTML is also helpful.
