Ahhhhhh, the lazy days of summer. Here in ePUB we've broken out the beach chairs, steel drums, and cold, umbrella-laiden drinks to enjoy between games of volleyball and riding the occasional wave... that is unless you're the Public Printer reading this! In that case, we've been working diligently on this issue of ePUB Illustrated so much so that we have even been working weekends and returned our leave for the rest of the year. ...Nobody's buying this are they?

In all seriousness, we have assembled another great issue of ePUB Illustrated for you! We have another good selection of topics for your enjoyment. Magan has a breakdown on proofs that follows some of our previous work to help you get the most out of your proofing dollar. Jeff MacAfee has another "Digital Tools" feature. This time around Jeff uncovers the facts on the software packages preferred by GPO vendors. Next, Chris comes to you with the ePUB Tip Sheet feature that covers everything you need to know about GPO Form 952. After that, I'll try to do Scott's series on Office Graphic Files justice with the third and final installment. Finally, good old Q&A will round out this issue.

Enjoy the Summer 2002 edition! ePUB will be hard at work as we approach fall with some agency presentations and planning the next electronic publishing training sessions for GPO Printing Specialists. These sessions help train all of GPO's Printing Specialists that procure your work in the latest trends and issues of the industry. We do the session here at the main office in Washington, and then videotaped editions go out to all of the regional offices so that no one is out of the loop.

So we have all that work and the Fall 2002 issue of this magazine to do! I better go so I can get started!

Regards,
